Level: Beginner
Wind directions:SW and WNW.
Rush Creek is a small
park nestled between two houses in a small county lakeside town. It is
in Heath well south of I-30 and we go there only when it's blowing from
the west.
Warning:Beware
of the rock pile to the NW of the point off the launch. It has rebar intermixed.
If you cannot stay upwind do not launch here on a SW wind.
This
is a not a good place to launch and land alone without assitance from
a local because of the trees and house straight downwind 100 feet away.
However drifting down to the Last Resort landing and dropping your kite
along the shore homes on Scenic Dr is a good way to ride here. The shore
line is really shallow near the Last Resort and the home owners are very
tollerant of kiters walking back upwind after walking out of the water
THROUGH VACANT LOTS. Do not land and walk up in the backyard of someones
home as it will create problems for locals that have been riding here
for years..
